Dearest Mom,

I cherish all the memories that I have of you. My heart still aches at your loss and I yearn for the day when I may have the chance to see you and Dad face to face again.

Where did those 30 years go?

May you and Dad enjoy eternal light, happiness, refreshment, and peace.

I'll love you and Dad always,
Jasiu

Dearest Mom,

I owe my very life to you and now it is thirty years since you've gone away. There are still times when it feels like yesterday. The memories are always very strong and the loss of you still impacts me each and every day.

These are very difficult times and I struggle to endure them without your and Dad's love and guidance.

Pray for me and look after me as I try my best to honor your and Dad's memory. There are times when I fall short of that goal so I pray that you and Dad lift me up when I fall.

Please pray for me and look after me.

I'll love you and Dad always,
Jasiu

Dearest Dad,

As Veterans' Day approaches, it is imperative that your own military service be remembered.

You never wanted to talk about it and you even bristled when the term "Greatest Generation" was used. "It was my duty," you said, and you never felt you were heroic. But you were!

Campaigns in North Africa, Italy, and France with the 36th Infantry Division brought you face to face with death each and every day. You experienced the long-lasting after effects of malaria throughout your life and you remained the victim of nightmares of what you witnessed.

My eyes well with tears when I think of all this and I'm greatly saddened that the contributions of you and your fellow soldiers are now overshadowed by today's lack of sacrifice and sense of entitlement.

You were and will always be my hero!

I'll love you and Mom always,
Jasiur

Dearest Mom and Dad,

On this All Souls' Day, I remember all the unconditional love you showered upon me and all the encouragement and support you gave me.

May you both be blessed with eternal light, happiness, refreshment, and peace.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon them.

I'll you both always,
Jasiu
