We called him Billy. My first cousin was ten years older than I, and always highly esteemed. My mother, his father's only sister, saved photos of Billy in his naval officer's uniform. They are still prized family possessions. Wonderful childhood memories of a talented, sincere cousin.
Betsy--remember Grandma's bungalow on the Shark River? When all the Hoffmans came, it was a Norman Rockwell kind of Americana at its finest. Love and sympathy to you and to all who cherished Bill and will continue to have fond memories. Hoping to see you in person soon--your cousin,

Bill was one of the best guys and would be greatly missed. He always had a great story, a funny comment, a word of inspiration. He had a great career at Hoffman and really enjoyed spending time with his immediate family and the children. Some people term the men of the military during the period of WWII "The Greatest Generation". Bill was part of that group. My condolences to his immediate family but rest assured he will always be known as one of the greatest.
