My earliest memories of Uncle Ed were from visits to Clearwater in the 1950s when I was just a young lad (my very first airplane ride was from Charlotte to Clearwater when I was five or six). On later trips to Clearwater, during the summer, Uncle Ed and I would sometimes run errands in the car together (and perhaps we were just out joyriding - such a different world!), and what I remember so vividly is Ed singing along to tunes on the radio, and encouraging me to sing along, too.
I well remember Uncle Ed's record player in his room: made of burgundy Bakelite that only played 45s (quite a collectible antique that would be nowadays, I imagine).
Other fond memories from Clearwater are of Ed and Marie playing cards with me (poker, if my memory serves me correctly). Fun times! Even though I hadn't seen Uncle Ed in ages, I'll miss him. He was a great guy.

Marie,
I just heard that Ed passed away earlier this month. So sorry for your loss of a great husband and best friend. What great memories I have of Ed and you and the good times we had together. Ed was truly someone who lived life to the fullest and brought along his family and friends for the ride.
Thinking and praying for you and yours during difficult days ahead.

There are no appropriate words of consolation for you Marie and Tracy. All my memories are of good times and good friends.
Much love to you both and see you very soon.
Love,

I will always remember Ed as a Clearwater tennis friend and someone with a great sense of humor. Many an afternoon he had me laughing on and off the court. I am so sorry for your loss, Marie, but thankful he is free of Parkinsons and in heaven with our Lord. My prayers are with you and your family.
