I will miss this guy who has guided me for 20 years. On my first day of work at MetroTex Association of Realtors, he was the one who hardily welcomed me, and we became side-kicks for lunch on most days. We always had things to talk about, and we had lots of good times. Since Terry was 10 years older than me, he hit milestones such as Medicare and Social Security first, and his advice to me was invaluable. I admire the way Terry handled his retirement years...basically staying active and engaged with the world around him. I will use his experience as a model to follow.

Terry : as a head of the Dobbins family I stayed with as a foreign exchange student back in 1982. That Sunday Jan 24th you and Maureen picked me up at DFW Airport : Texan winter pretty severe to me back then. Went to bed at 4 p.m. and woke up at 7 a.m. the following day that first day (a little scared by the new experience I had just begun ) for to attend PSHS first school day . Looked out my bedroom window and there was snow for the first time in my eyes.
A new world you showed me...Riding in your japanese car (if I'm not mistaken) through East Texas while enjoying a generous malt milkshake...the UNO Debbie and Mark taught me to play while going around in Maureen's van Mike and Michelle in Easter time ...we got to a place where I first saw a Texan rattlesnake and I saw bisons as well that day for the first time ...your jokes I used to find pretty difficult to understand in the speed a joke needs to be... your cozy home on Canyon Valley Trail... the brocoli we used to eat from your backyard... the day we protected ourselves from the tornado threats...the rib barbecue we went to after your secretary's Linda wedding ceremony at some Anglican Church in Plano ... your Texas Instruments office in downtown Plano ... your National Geographic collection...the services at First Baptist Church : Brother Berry!... the unforgettable Sunday lunches at Collin Creek Mall. So gentle-hearted human being. Never mind my fragmented memories... At last : I miss you. At last...the world is a bit sadder since you left us. Momma Goose Maureen, Debbie, Mark and Michelle: never forgotten. Ever! Kindness and joy were your trademarks to me. Fudpucker you live in our hearts!

You probably don't remember me but I owned the Mustard Seed bookstore. I am so sorry for your loss.

Michelle,

My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. I met your Dad once when you and I were kids, and I remember his smile and how nice he was to me. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Kristina Scott Rasmussen
