There were no possible words of comfort that we could give you at the service, yet, the service was such a comfort to all there! You helped all of us! It was so uplifting and a joyful tribute to Mandie of how much you laughed and loved all through her life. We're thinking of you always.

I am a professor at ASU and while I didn't teach Mandie I know that from her scholarship and involvement in campus activities she epitomized the kind of student that makes Appalachian the family that it is. I just heard the devastating news and am just heartbroken. Mandie was a student of mine at App State back in the Spring 2013 semester, and I couldn't have asked for a more conscientious, hard-working, or good-natured student than she was. I used to get a laugh out of the way that she would panic over every assignment; a day or two before each major draft was due, I would get an email from Mandie that started with something like "I'm not sure I did this right! Help!" and then she would turn in a great piece of work that fit the assignment perfectly. And, of course, I will always remember that dazzling smile of hers. My deepest condolences and prayers go out to her family.
