ANGELA DAWN BATTS Angela Dawn Batts, 48, of Wilmington, NC, took her last earthly breath and first in heaven on Monday, May 13, 2013. Angela passed away peacefully during the early morning at Hemby Hospice Unit at Presbyterian Main Hospital in Charlotte, NC, after a courageous one and a half year battle against stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. Although her battle was fierce, she never lost the smile on her face or her infectious laughter she so freely gave to those around her. Angela is the daughter of Ennis Harvey Britt and Dawn Cannon Britt of Wilmington, NC. She is also the daughter of Alton F. Batts of Wilmington, NC. Angela is predeceased by her grandparents, Richard William Cannon and Lydia Bell Cannon, Josephine S. Batts and Daniel J. Batts of Wilmington, NC. Angela is survived by her sister Kristin Cannon Pflughoeft and her husband David Robert Pflughoeft, nephew Logan David Pflughoeft of Fort Mill, SC. Angela was born on October 5, 1964 in New Hanover County. She graduated high school in 1982 from John T. Hoggard High School and continued her education by earning a BS in Accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1986. Angela was employed by Cannon Heating and Air Conditioning for many years. She was a longtime covenant member of the Rock Church of Wilmington where she served many years in the sound booth. Angela was also a professional photographer for many years. She enjoyed softball, electronics, and was considered by her family a mathematical genius. Her favorite activity was spending time with others, especially if it involved Wrightsville Beach. Angela spread joy and inspiration everywhere she went. Her determination inspired all those who were blessed enough to have met her. We love you Angela, and will see you again in heaven. Join our family in a celebration of her life at Andrews Mortuary on Saturday May 18th. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and a funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow immediately at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are as follows: Spike Gray, David James, JR Willetts, III, Dr. Edward Owens, Steve Wright, Ron Phelps, Gerald Romaine Bell and David Pflughoeft. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309 or the Rock Church of Wilmington, 5301 Sidbury Road, Wilmington, NC 28404. Send condolences to www.andrewsmortuary.com A Market Chapel Service

I am so sincerely sorry for your loss. I had not known Angela was sick and I am really sorry I didn't have the chance to help out in some way. I would have been right there if I had known. I only found out after the funeral was over. Angela was the most remarkable light! I can hear her laughter anytime I think of her. She loved her family so much and I am glad she had such an awesome testimony. You can be proud of Angela! Love and prayers for you Kristin and Dawn! Dawn I am Dewey's daughter ... And a friend of Angela from high school. Much love...
