Roy,
We are so sad to hear of Kay's death. You have had such an tough year of loss. You are in our heart and prayers.

What a special privilege it was to know the Mlinar family because of my relationship with Helen Quady via North Memorial Hospice and then becoming Guardian for Kay. Indeed a very special family with endurance, integrity, grace and the desire to contribute to society in so many ways. I wish I'd known the family sooner. Blessings to friends and extended family, but especially to Roy. Remember: "Death is not extinguishing the light. It is only putting out the candle because dawn has come."

Roy, I cannot thank you enough for letting me spend some quality time with Kay recently. Your mom & aunties were all very blessed to have you there for them all those years, taking care of each of them. God bless you Roy. And thank you for sharing all the wonderful ladies in your life with me.
Love, Patty

From very long ago but not so far away, I wish to extend the sympathies of our family to the family and friends of Kay. I recall that our maternal grandparents, Michael and Anna Mokita, were 5th Street neighbors to the Mlinar family. We have scattered far since moving to the wilds of South Dakota in 1954 but remain forever connected to our Northeast (and St. Mary's) roots. Maryann Super Blackerby, David Super, Virginia Kroll Fitzpatrick.

As a niece of one of the Mlinar girls (Helen was my amazing aunt), I remember Kay as intelligent, accomplished, warm and friendly. All of the Mlinar girls should be admired and remembered for their success as creative working women, paving the way for us women today! They will always be revered by the seven SQ's here on the West Coast, and we are happy our cousin Roy was able to share his time with them in their later lives. Roy we send you condolences, because we know you will miss them. We will be thinking about you and your wonderful, talented aunts and mother--what a trio!
With aloha,
Susan Quady Dean and all the SQ's

This photo of Auntie Kay at Her cutest was taken during World War II when She was a Red Cross volunteer at Camp Bowie near Brownwood, TX. This photo of Auntie Kay might have been taken around 1934 when She was a proud member of Sigma Kappa Sorority at The University of Minnesota. This is my favorite photo of Auntie Kay, taken sometime in the 1960s, I believe. When I was stationed in The Philippines, Auntie Kay was with me.
