Sorum, Daniel J. age 11, of Paynesville, went to be with his Savior on Monday, March 5, 2007 at his home after a lengthy and courageous battle with brain stem cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Evangelical Free Church in Willmar. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville. Daniel J. Sorum was born on March 1, 1996 in Onamia, the son of David and Linda (LaFramboise) Sorum. He grew up in rural Paynesville and attended Community Christian School in Willmar where he was in 5th grade. He was a member of the Paynesville Evangelical Free Church where he participated in many of the youth programs and loved attending Wednesday night family night at church. He also enjoyed playing YMCA basketball, golf, baseball, soccer, riding horses, fishing, swimming, and was a self-made shark expert. Daniel is survived by his parents, David & Linda Sorum of Paynesville; brothers, David Sorum Jr. of St. Kitts, West Indies, Michael Sorum of Arizona, Mark Sorum of California, Matthew Sorum of California; grandparents, Eldon (Susan) Smith of Mora, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kermit and Corolla Sorum, John E. LaFramboise; uncle, Kermit Sorum Jr.; and aunt, Babe Sorum. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Community Christian School of Willmar Building Project.

We will always miss daniel. I will miss his laugh and playing basketball with him. I will love daniel forever. To me he was was the world's greatest cousin and there wil be no one like him. No one has touched my heart like he has. I love him so much and i will miss him just as much. I will alwy miss the summers we spent together since i was 13 and now i'm 18 so we spent alot of them together. I love you all

It was wonderful to meet Daniel over the years. I was able to talk with him when we were all in Minneapolis to see Matt two years ago....what a wonderful little boy. So sweet.
