Gunnar was a great guy. Since our early days we shared unique adventures many of which were in airplanes. He was a generous man, always ready to share his knowledge, time and passions. I will always treasure the memory of our friendship. Happy landings Gunnar.

I first met Gunnar 18 years ago and learned a lot about flying from him. Loved hearing Gunnar's stories about his many flying adventures and sharing sim time with him in various large commercial aircraft. Gunnar definitely had a unique (but very honest, logical and interesting) point of view/philosophy regarding various important topics; he was a very deep thinker. I will surely miss him but know he is in a much happier place now and free of physical ailment.

I found Gunnar to be a man who loved America, the Constitution, and American history, which is the focus of our book club. It was a privilege to have him join us and I know he thoroughly enjoyed our discussions and us. His love for the constitution and America always continued in our conversations when I drove him home to his cabin. Of course much conversation also covered his enjoyment of his cabin along the Mississippi River and all the animals in the area. The Gunnar I knew was very polite and caring and he loved God and had a deep love for His creation. I can't forget his love for flying and I am so sorry his flying was cut short. Gunnar was truly a gentle man and I will miss him.

I have known Gunnar for over 50 years when we first met in our intial pilot training days together at Executive Aero at Flying Cloud Airport. We have been the very best of friends ever since. Gunnar is a person that you describe as a "free spirit", like myself. He is a very rare individual having a combination of kindness, loyalty, honesty and compassion for others. He would literally give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He was not a person of very rich monetary means but he was a multibillionare when it comes to the discription of his personality. No one could ever ask for a better friend. I'am honored to have been his friend for so many years. He will be missed by all who knew him. I'am sure he is flying in a better world now and truely free.....

We worked together at the home Depot. He had so many interesting life experiences he shared with me. He was a charming and intelligent man. I remember his wry smile. He is flying the blue skies now.
