Sending numerous prayers up for Hans and and his family. After 26 years of fighting, he's finally able to peacefully rest among the angels. May God be with you through this tough time and help you feel at peace knowing he's in paradise!

Dear Fred and Joanell and Family,
We just learned of Hans passing and wanted to express our deepest sympathy to you all. It's amazing how courageous and resilient Hans was. He set the bar on how to show up for life for the rest of us. We remembered Joanell bringing Hans and Brigitte (both were just little children then) over to visit great Aunt Lil after their violin lessons when we were there visiting her from California. He was a witty and charming little boy. At Fred's retirement celebration we had an opportunity to see Hans, all grown up, and had a chance to talk with him for a little while. We're so glad we got that chance because he had grown into such an incredibly fine young man. We will always remember Hans.
May God bless you all.

I am so sorry to hear about Hans. If ever there was a personification of courage in the face of adversity, he was it. May God comfort you in your grief, and grant Hans eternal rest.

I am so very sorry. I remember Hans so well at BSM, both in my freshman English class, and as an inspiration in the community. He was the gentlest of souls, with a keen curiosity and a passion for learning. I have thought of him so often -- that's not going to change. Who can forget those twinkling eyes! Hans, you touched so many lives and your memory will be with us always. My thoughts and prayers go to your loving family who took such good care of you.

Christina: My sympathy to you in the loss of your brother. Lee LeBaron notified me-Lee and I were classmates many years ago and somehow made the connection some years back that we both knew of you and your brother. May your many memories be of some comfort in the loss of your brother. "Sorrow is not forever, Love is."

Hans was a special person and definitely an inspiration to all who met him. I am glad that he was able to be at home for Christmas. May you find strength in your memories. I know he will be remembered as a strong person on 6B.

My deepest sympathy to all of your family in the loss of Hans. I was able to care for Hans during his visits to Children's Hospital inpatient and in Radiology.. My thoughts are with you.

I have vivid memories of teaching French in the IHM pre-school and Hans' shining eyes, his irresistible laugh and the aura he had since childhood which drew people to him. (I was thrilled to see he's a fellow Red Knight alum too!)The gift of your smile made a difference in so many lives; you will be remembered always with joy and love.

To the Zimmerman family~
Our deepest and most heartfelt condolances to all of you with the passing of Hans to eternal life. He was a courageous child and brave young man who faced so much in his short life. God bless you and your family.
