My heart aches for your loss. Unfortunately, some lessons are not learned without the ultimate loss. Mr. Easterling's courage to confront the " almighty " NFL about their part in the brain injury issue has opened the eyes of many of us. I have, until recently, considered my high school football experience one of the most positive of my life. That said I can recall at least 5 concusions that I received. Through the awareness brought on by ex-players such as Mr. Easterling I have taken a much more balanced approach to the pros and cons of football. I have a 14 year old son who has played youth football for 2 years and was considering playing in high school. After explaining the possibility of brain issues my son decided not to play. Please take comfort in knowing these types of conversations are happening all over our country.
