My heartfelt sympathy to the Hervas family and friends in the loss of Tad. I did not have the honor or privilege of knowing Tad,but my heart is broken and I am saddened for your loss of such a fine young person and hero. May God bring you peace in your heart as you reflect on all the wonderful memories you hold so close. Please know that you are in my heart and prayers. My heart was touched by the many wonderful/beautiful things written about you. Tad you are my hero and you will NEVER be forgotten.
I send each of you a hug from the most inner part of my heart.

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

My condolences to all of Tad's family and friends. I was incredibly saddened to hear of Tad's passing. I remember a lot of good times on the ski team at CRSH. Although I haven't talked to Tad in a lot of years, I was not surprised to hear of his committment to such an honorable cause. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Thanks Tad for keeping us all safe.

I thank this soldier for his bravery and honor in fighting for our country and our freedom. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. God bless and keep him. Only two defining forces have ever OFFERED to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.

I went to college with Thad in 1979-1980. I have an incedible snap shot of all the fun times we shared with Thad and 'dozens' of good friends back then up at UMD.

Thad was always a fantastic part of the many months of enjoying college life. There was not a weekend where we were not having a blast. I remember being in Thads room when the USA hockey team won the gold. Rice beer from Wisconsin runs and skiing at Spirit Mountain. A time forever remembered in my heart.

Though years have passed - I still smile hard when I think of the fun Thad appreciated everyday and his energy and sincere smile.

Bless his memory and bless his family. Praise the Lord in all things and never forget the fallen.

I served under him in E Battery out of Cloquet. Upon deployment I was a part of the group that was broken off and sent to Saudi Arabia so, I guess I didn't get the chance to truly see him as a Commander. What I did witness of him, however, was that her very much so was able to relate to us low ranking troops on our level. He didn't lord his rank over us and didn't see his rank as permission to disrespect us. He seemed to be a truly and genuinely warm hearted man. I didn't have to get to know him too well to know that he will be missed.
