Johnson, Russell Clifford age 92 of Edina. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Russ graduated from Hallock, MN high school in 1939 and attended Grand Forks, North Dakota Business College. He played semi-professional hockey for two years in the State Dominion Hockey League in Canada. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946. Russ married the love of his life, Charlotte Hope Gist, on October 2, 1945. In 1955, he founded Russ Johnson Nursery, located in Bloomington and Prior Lake, which he owned until retiring in 1988. Russ was a beloved person known for his unwavering love for his family and friends. Russ was preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Alma; brother, Allan; and sister, Alice. He is survived by loving wife of 68 years Charlotte; children, Terry and Vicki (John) Volker; grandchildren, Taylor, Chris, and Ben (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Breanna, Jack, and Ava; and brother, Kenneth (Jean) Johnson. Memorial Service was held at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 7625 Chicago Avenue South.
