As a lawyer, Bill was a consummate professional. He was a bright spot in the world of law and his counsel was widely sought. He respected the law and those who distinguish themselves by their character in its practice. As a friend, Bill was good-hearted and thoughtful. He was a class act, a good man, and we will miss him.

Bill was a great lawyer, but an even better friend. I will always remember Bill's wit, charm, and compassion toward others; and he will always hold an honored place in my heart. RIP, my friend.

Bill was many things to me: attorney; mentor; work-out partner; but above all else a dear friend. Bill was a remarkable lawyer with an analytical mind, an authority on capital murder cases, and a voracious reader who truly cared about people. His passing leaves a huge void. I will cherish his memory.

Bill was a giant in the defense community, he truly believed and practiced the principal that every person deserved a thorough defense under the Constitution. Always with no exceptions. He was unapologetic in his belief and it was inspiring. The entire criminal courthouse is grieving his loss. My most sincere condolences.
