We lost a dear friend. Deirdre will be missed by everyone at GHS. She had a unique talent for helping those in need, and for bringing people up when they faced difficulties. Her work as a teacher was much more than a job to her. It was her calling. She took every opportunity to do her best to help others. She was a huge support to Rick and me when our infant son, Brandon, was in the hospital last year, and as we struggled with being out with him for so many days. My words cannot fully describe the kindness she shared. Our thoughts and prayers are with Deirdre's family, friends, and all the people who knew her as a wonderful teacher.

My heart is grieved for the premature loss of a wonderful teacher, friend, colleague, and mentor. Sweet Deirdre was taken abruptly from our realm of touching on her way to do what she loved most-to teach, guide, and mentor her students and colleagues. Deirdre embodied all of the very best qualities of those called to teach! She was smart, funny, saavy, loving, and most of all, she loved her students and the time she had with them to impart knowledge, accountability, and responsibility! I had the privilege and the pleasure of serving the wonderful students of Georgetown High School for several years with Deirdre and her dedication to our calling amazed me! Blessings to her sweet daughters, students, family, friends, and colleagues! May God grant us all comfort and a perfect peace that passes all understanding! You will be profoundly loved and missed Deirdre!!!

I loved every minute of being your classroom neighbor at GHS for 2 years; oddly enough you loved having me next door too and that says tons for your love of kids and your fun-loving nature. I can't believe you are gone. Dance with the angels my friend, I know they called you home because they missed you so much.
