No doubt by now you have read (and heard) countless stories about your husband and father and the lasting impression he had on baseball fans. Gary Carter will forever be a hero of mine. As a 41 year old man I have tears welling up in my eyes as I write this and think about the profound influence he had on the lives of so many fans of the game. He was admired for both his on field performance and the exemplary life he lead. Please find comfort in knowing that Gary Carter left a lasting impression on those that admired him. His contributions to both the game he loved and to life will be missed. Forever an Expo (in my mind) #8 may be gone but he certainly will never be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to the family and to his many fans around the world.
