I just found out that Bob has passed away. I worked with his printing press whie at SWTSU. Bless his memory, a wonderful boss.
Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a good man. My condolences to his family. Que vaya con Dios!
Bob was my boss at the Hays County Citizen in the 1970's. He was absolutely the best person and the best boss, ever. My prayers are with Tutta and family.
Bob Barton was always so fair and he listened to all sides of an issue. He was a person I admired and we will miss his persona and good will.
Bob was a great man and I owe my involvement of Hays county politics to him. He pulled me in and made me feel useful.
Tutta, sorry for your loss. I didn't know him well but whenever our paths crossed his good spirit was an inspiration. Love to you, Elaine Squires-Wilkinson
Wynette, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Many thanks for your years of fellowship.
Bob was a lover of good books, a fighter for all the good causes, and a newspaperman's newspaperman. He will be sorely missed by all his old friends. We share your loss at his passing.
Bob Barton was one of my high school teachers back in 1955 at the Harlandale High School in San Antonio. We will always remember him and offer our condolences to his family.
My dad introduced me to the Barton family when they lived in San Marcos. They were an amazing family then, and have never been afraid/or unkind to anyone. They will get through this just as Bob the Patriarch modeled for them. I know him and dad are in the spiritual world talking football and politics. Heartfelt love to you all,
Thoughts and prayers for the Barton family. He was a great friend of our family.
Bob Barton was one of the most interesting and charming men I have ever known, and I am sad that he has gone. His integrity mixed with humor truly made him "the presiding gent". My sympathy to Tutta and the boys.
Bob Barton was a guiding light and inspiration to many. I wish I knew him better. May God be with his family and many friends. Peace, Stan Cobbs, Kerrville
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. So sorry for your loss and the loss of a yellow dog dem.
What Cronkite meant to the Nation, Bob Barton meant to the us folks at home ...
He was part of my life and I am a better man for it.
Thank you for all the wonderful memories, lectures, incredible sense of humor and being a dear friend for the last 34 years! A pleasure and an honor to have known you.
To a true advocate of the people, especially in his community, and for representing democracy at its finest. Bob, thanks for all the wonderful things you did for Hays county and the encouragement you gave me to act on my beliefs. Thank you for a life well lived with a sense of humor and a belief that we all can bring about change for the better. It was a pleasure and an honor to have known you.
So long, Bob. Thanks for all the press and politics for all the years. Good job.
God bless the family during this time.....Bob was loved by many and was our neighbor in Kyle for some time. Some of his family still near us. He was very fair and good man. He will be missed.

I admired Bob Barton for so many reasons, too many to list them all here. Bob talked the talk AND walked the walk. I know for me personally that for all he did and who he was, his spirit lives on...it lives on through individuals like me who got to work with him in politics and hang out with him, his friends & family; it lives on in the Kyle community through things like the local newspaper & community forums; it lives on beyond the local front & spreads to anyone who had the pleasure to meet Bob & witness his life so well lived. Thanks for all you did, Bob. I am honored to have known you.
My maternal family has had the honor of having the Barton family intwined for three generations. Mr. Barton's grandmother was my grandparents neighbor. My uncle was encouraged by Mr. Barton to get involved with the party when minorities were not encouraged to participate. Mr. Barton father was my fifth grade teacher & his aunt was my high school English teacher. Thanks to the Barton family for sharing withn us.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Barton family.
Our love to all of you. We always say the Bartons are about the only people we know who will fall on their swords for what they believe in – beginning with Bob's dad and carried on by the rest of the family. We admire Bob for his courage, his kindness, his wisdom and his sense of humor, and count ourselves lucky to be among the people who have been his co-workers and friends. / Barry Kolar and Sheri Sellmeyer
I am so sorry for your loss. I was lucky to have worked side by side with Bob during many elections. I am so glad he saw Barack Obama re-elected.
What a life he lived. He was a force to be reckoned with and will be missed.
Bob and Tutta Barton have been a force in my life since the 70s. They were a dynamic duo, and gave so much to everyone they have touched. Thank you for being what you were, Bob. I will continue to try to share the love and laughter and friendship you brought to us all,and share what wisdom I gleaned from you both. I send special love to Tutta, Jeff, and Beau and the entire Barton-Word family.
Mr. B is the most genuine person I know. There was not a prejudice bone in his body. It was a pleasue and an honor to have worked for him at Colloquium Books. I am grateful to have known him and I believe I am a better person for it. Juanita Rodriguez, Buda, TX
It was an honor to have Had Bob as a friend and to have served with him in the legislature. His knowledge, support, understanding and ideals helped me to be a better legislator than I might have otherwise been. He was an anchor for what was fundamentally right and far.
Condolences from the DeLaFuente family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
I am honored to have known Bob Barton and believe he influenced every human that he encountered in a positive, significant way. Thank you, Bob, for your kindness and leadership.

The Bilbro Family
Thanks for all you did for our community, Mr. Barton. You will be missed.
Bob was a great friend to have--thoughtful, generous and gutsy. You could depend upon his word and trust his instincts to do the right thing. He was a champion of fair play and the chance for everyone to get in the game, no matter their background. I have had no better friend in my life than Bob.
It was Bob's determination that Hispanics, Blacks and students gain a voice in local government that had a great deal to do with a freshly minted college teacher getting involved in trying to make a change through politics. He was my mentor, my friend and a Texas treasure.
I always enjoywed "discussions" with Bob and I had a greaat respect for him and his opinions. Myself and my wife will not forget him.
Dear Barton Family, I extend my heat felt sympathy to all.
Bob, was my Hero, I always felt his love people. Bob gave me and many hispanic hope that someday, we would have our voices heard. I will missing him dearly.
My love to all Angelita Tobias.
What a life honor and joy to have known Bob Barton, the uncontested heart and soul of our community.
