Janina, you were the epitome of fun and always quick to give a good word and a hearty laugh. You had so many amazing stories that were a testament to how much you had lived. Really LIVED. You've inspired me to do the same.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Janina's passing away. She was great person to work with: funny, cheerful, with a great sense of humor. I will miss her. My best wishes to her family and friends.
Wishing I could be in Austin to give you one last hug.
You were a comet of light, blazing a path through our little Austin universe, always ready to help with a smile and a hand. May the memory of your good deeds endure and live in our hearts and souls for years to come, as we honor a life well lived. May your soul be sealed in the Book of Life and may you be reunited with everyone you have ever loved and who has loved you.
One of the best decisions I ever made in my life was to go and talk to the girl in study hall who was drawing pictures in her notebook. We became friends fast at 14 through our love of music and good natured rebellion. We have seen each other through so much over the years. I look forward to seeing you again one day, Bud.
Janina, it seemed that I would see your big, beautiful, welcoming smile just about everywhere I went. If there was an event, I would usually invite you, and if by chance I didn't, you would be there anyway... somehow you seemed to always know all the happenings in Austin!
When I remember you I will always remember a woman who lived, truly lived, life to it's fullest. I hope that I can live my life in the way you lived yours.
Thank you Janina for sharing your many gifts which include those of light, love and friendship.
We remember you by the good times we had and will miss you so very much.
Peace to your family and friends, and may we all remember to live by your example. Class, grace, just a little bit of mischief, and always with a hard rocking soundtrack.
My sincere and deep condolences to the Hurtado family. My memories of Janina always include a smile on her face. I'm glad our paths were able to cross.
It's still hard for me to believe you're gone. I'll never forget your giving me my first scooter ride, getting me involved in dragon boat racing, R.A.D. and so much more. You are such an inspiration and a role model to me. I am so blessed to have known you. I miss you. I wish I could be there tomorrow to say good-bye in person but even more I wish you were still here with us. Love you.
You were a beautiful person inside and out. May you rest in peace.
You were a great sister-in-law to my daughter, Renee, and a loving aunt to my grandchildren, Tyler and Daphne. You enriched both the Hurtado and Hulett families and for that you will be sorely missed. Jeff Hulett
As you've done, I've done for you. Safe journey, J. I'll miss you until we see each other next. Thank you for being the best and showing us how to be tough, classy, and humorous no matter the situation.
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
