Jan, it seemed like yesterday when Mark Stein and I flew to Dallas and roomed together to be there in November of 1985 for the two of you. Losing touch through the years doesn't diminish the timelessness of the happiness of your union and offspring. He could not have been either happier or more successful. Not many could have done what he did as a non-native Texan. I hope the knowledge of that and God's grace continues to give you strength. Feel free to reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org...
I just learned of Reggie's death. We worked together at H&K too many years ago. He was a hail fellow well met and will be missed by many.
It is with deep sadness that I only today learned of the death of Reggie Bashur. I first made Reggie's acquaintance while a member of the Texas Capital Press Corps in 1987. We became good friends, and to this day, I have always considered Reggie to be loyal friend and ally. While Reggie is no longer with us, his spirit and memory live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him. I count myself very fortunate to have have been one of those. I will always remember Reggie with love and a sense of abiding friendship in my heart. To Jan and his children: Know that Reggie's eternal love will serve as a guiding light and beacon of hope and courage in your lives. And while no words can assuage your loss, take comfort in the fact that Reggie is now with our Heavenly Father, in a state of grace, peace, joy and eternal love.

We are all diminished by Reggie passing. He was respected and loved by many. He was a pleasure to work with and a joy to share moments of reflection. He maintained his good humor under all circumstances. He was flawless in his professionalism. Reggie was a good and trusted friend. Reggie loved his family, state and nation deeply. He was loved in return.
I regret we no longer have Reggie among us but I am comforted by the sure knowledge he is in a far better place. You and the children are in our thoughts and prayers.
With deepest sympathy,
