Condolences to Gene Polley's family. Gene and his daughter Joan occasionally had dinner with John and Ceil Seifner and my parents, Elmer and Elva Osborn back when all the "guys" were still working for Zenith. Carolyn Osborn Ingle

My condolences go out to the family and friends of Eugene Polley. Just before his passing my husband and I were talking about how we didnt know who invented the remote. Its nice to place a face and name to something that we use every day. Thank you very much Mr Polley... : )

thank you for retiring my brothers and I as the remote control for our parents. The remote is truly a friend to many of us. My sympathy is with those he leaves behind. May God's word comfort you. Jo Ann B. Cleveland, OH

Thank you, Gene.My wife, Joyce, and I will miss your creative thinking, inventing, and conversations. It was a true Honor to have you in my College of DuPage jewelry classes with your daughter Joan back in the 1980's. Until I met you I didn't know the cute little red and green flashlight I'd bought was really the First Remote until you saw it in my art studio. I was happy to relinguish it to you. And, it was a pleasure to meet with you a couple of times at your clean and airy apartment, and find you, in your 90's were still inventing....... Time will be passing Gene's "Great Accomplishments' History" through generations of family..... God Bless you all! ....I found out about Gene's death too late to attend his funeral. I would have liked to meet the rest of his family. (As in our 80's habitual TV watchers, we really appreciate his inventive mind.!) Our sympathies to all...
