My Mom was always a spiritual person, and I know it was her faith that helped her through these past few months and on my last day with her and as I turned around to look at her I knew she had made and found her peace with Life. She was our rock and she will be missed by not only her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her friends but by everyone who knew her.
There are so many memories I had with my mom that come to mind and next to impossible for me to pick a favorite one but with all the memories I do have and the travelling experiences we did together will always be in my memory bank forever.
We were extremely lucky to have such a Great Mom, a grandmother, a great grandmother, and a great friend to many and she will be missed dearly.
I believe these two poems depict how my mom viewed the world both in life and death.
Poem of Life
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.
I Am Always With You
When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had so many good years.
I gave you my love, and you can only guess
How much you've given me in happiness.
I thank you for the love that you have shown,
But now it is time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
That it is only for a while that we must part,
So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away for life goes on.
And if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All my love around you soft and clear
And then, when you come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".
Words can't express how much she meant to me and my family.
"We Love You Mom and We'll Miss You"
Love Always,Your Son
