For the past 10 years Jim was the sax & clarinet player for my trio. Not only did he know all the Big Band music and standards, he also knew most of the rock and roll and Motown tunes. He liked and played most every style of music - which is why I loved playing with him. I will always remember all the New Years' Eve events at Bentley's in Charlotte. While we brought the new year in, Cheri and Mavis would enjoy a 5 course meal. I will also miss all the wonderful gigs at The Cypress where his playing was revered by the members. It was highly ironic and quite fitting that he left this world while we were playing there this past Wednesday without him. Jim, you were an awesome man and we will never forget you or your music! Till we play together again...
