Mr. Carter was the man that put a trombone in my hands over 25 years ago. I am still playing, and I now am in my 16th year of teaching middle school band. If it wasn't for Mr. Calabrese, I would probably be doing something different now. Last week, I taught my band students how to play "Leap Frog". This was the first jazz chart that Mr. Calabrese taught me and teaching it to my students brought back memories of sitting at East Iredell learning from him. He was a fantastic musician and a great teacher. He will be missed by many!
