I had the pleasure of serving as Capt. Bailey's Weapon's Officer on the USS Stribling DD-867. He was an excellent Commanding Officer and a great guy. He attended my wedding and gave me a weeek's leave for a honeymoon at a critical time in the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He trusted his officers, had the big picture, and "didn't sweat the small stuff." It was many years ago but I am glad he touched my life; he will be missed.
