To Cousin Bennie, !Sister! will always be remembered - we were first cousins from DC;
Lots of Love to the whole Family!
Eleanor Hazel Paige
My message from July 13 had an error and I didn't sign my name. I was so upset about Mrs. Jackson passing, I wasn't thinking straight. I was in her 1st grade class in 1976 (not 1978). The friendships she fostered among her class has led us to many lifelong friendships. I look forward to seeing her again.
Correction to scripture in previous post:
Should be Hosea 13:14.
Condolence to the family:
How well I remember and treasure my 4th grade year (1958 approx.) at St. Luke Church which served as an extension classroom for Old Number 6 Elementary School with Mrs. Jackson. It was in her classroom that I finally learned the dreaded "Long Division".
To the family: May you find comfort and strength in the GOD who cannot lie following promise:
“In the day of my distress I will call upon you, for you will answer me.” - Psalm 86:7. (See also Hosea 13:18)
Please accept my deepest sympathy,
I taught Kindergarten in the portable next to Ethel at Evelyn Hamblen Elementary for 7 years. She was a great teacher, friend, and co-worker as well a beautiful lady inside and out. I am so sorry I was unable to attend the viewing or memorial service, but she is forever in my memories and I treasure those years at Evelyn Hamblen. I will not say good-bye, but farewell until we meet again.
I just heard about the passing of Mrs. Jackson. It's hard to even express what it means to have known her and to have been taught by her. I will never forget the first day of school (Aug 1978) when she said to us: "My name is Ethel Hazel Jackson. You will call me Mrs. Jackson" as she wrote it on the board. My family came to love her very much and I took time to visit with her at the school as I grew up and often ran into her around town. She will be missed by so many. Most sincere condolences to Mr. Jackson and the entire family. She was my favorite teacher. Ever.
Im so glad I got to tell her how much she meant to me and gave her a big hug,when I would see her,I still felt like that little kindergarten kid loving Mrs Jackson..
Deepest sympathy and prayers out to this family. Mrs Jackson was a true sweetheart, and one of the finest teachers! She was not only my teacher at Evelyn Hamblen, but my son had the pleasure also! Very fond memories, and was always delighted on the few occasionas that we had bumped into each other in the stores... Rest in Peace, Mrs Jackson!
3 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
