Just heard about this - he was a great coach and neighbor growing up on Oakleaf Drive. Many great memories of running/racing in the street as well as on his track teams at SW. Great inspiration for sports and life in general.
Don Ryskoski was one of my most memorable and favorite coaches of all times. "Effort is the key to success. Without effort, you will not have success." We had an amazing volleyball team under Coach Don. He was truely inspirational and will always... always be remembered for his leadership, drive and ultimate desire to lead the development and success of everyone on our team. So much for everyone to be proud of- the great coach and person that he was and will always be remembered for. Best wishes to his family.
Tammy and Family: I have known your amazing father and family since we were little twerpts in second grade. He was a kind man with a gentle soul. He touched the lives of so many people. He loved his family so much and was so proud of his kids and the love of his life (Pat). I remember bumping into him and Pat later in life, and saying, "How's it going Mr. Ryskoski? and he would say, "Fine, just call me "Don"." Tammy, you definitely were "the apple of his eyes". Thank you for being my friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time. Don definitely will be missed by all. He was a great man.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was one of the best teachers I ever had and really cared about each of his students. I feel lucky to have known him.
To the Ryskoski family, Don was a wonderful, caring person. I remember all the memories growing up with him, Pat, Tammy, Randy and Jay. He was a great friend to me and my family (Nemec's). I will be at the funeral and praying for you Tammy and your family. When I read this I had shed a tear because I remember Tammy being there for me when I lost my mother. Don was a great husband and dad...Love all of you...Mary Nemec
Pat, I'm sorry I won't be able to attend Don's funeral as I am out of town. You have my sympathy. It was always a pleasure to work with you and Don.

Mr. Ryskoski was of paramount influence in my life. He taught the importance of competition, excellence, and, of course, sportsmanship. A good man in so many ways.
To the Ryskoski family, Your have my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of a wonderful man. I taught Physical education with him and coached track at Southwest and he was the ultimate coach who instilled values in his students and athletes. I am grateful that he was there to help me as a young teacher also. My prayers are with the family. Don was someone who will be dearly missed, but there are so many great memories for you to hold on to. May God bless all of you in the fullness of His love. Peace, Sr. Katherine Fax
Thoughts and prayers to the Ryskoski Family. Mr. Ryskoski was a heck of a nice guy - and an excellent physical education teacher at Southwest. Always a gentleman. I am a better person for having known him. Peace to you.
