Lund, Leland "Lee"
Leland "Lee" Carlton Lund, 81, lost his battle with cancer on August 20, 2013. He was born on October 29, 1931, the son of Henry and Emily (Vesterse) Lund of Black Hammer Minnesota. On March 28, 1959, he married Lucille Wiese at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Oakfield. Together they resided in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Lee served our country in the US Army for the 26th Infantry, stationed in Germany from 1948 until 1951. He then worked for Wright Tree Service for over 35 years and retired in 1989. He was a life-time member of the VFW Post 10262. Leland enjoyed pony pulling, wood crafts and gambling. Leland is preceded in death by his wife Lucille, his parents Henry and Emily, 5 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include several nieces and nephews of the Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa area. Also survived by special friends Kevin and Peggy (Schultz) Flaherty, Jason and Sherry (Schultz) Szymkowiak, Orville and Donna (Schultz) Kurth, Robert and Julie Hutter and Leroy and Janet Schultz. A celebration of life will take place at the VFW on Hickory Dr. in Plover on Friday August 30 from 4 - 8 pm. Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family.
