Rita A. Kozak
Rita A. Kozak, 85, of Stevens Point, died Sunday October 13, 2013, unexpectedly due to an automobile accident. Rita was born on June 3, 1928, in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Carl & Agnes (Walenski)
Wrycha. She attended local schools.
Her marriage to Walter Kozak took place on October 25, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church Torun, after the marriage the couple settled on the Kozak family homestead. Her husband Walter died on January 18, 2004.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Wanta of Custer. Sons, David (Margaret) Kozak of Stevens Point and Steven Kozak of Clinton Township MI. Son-in-law, Robert Gollonik of Whiting.
11 Grandchildren, Mark (Nicole) Wanta, Amy (Nicholas) Jaeger, Jody Wanta, Todd (Adrienne) Wanta, John Kotolski, Jason Kotolski, Amanda Kotolski, Justin Kotolski, Christopher Kozak, Kaitlyn Kozak and Nathan Kozak. Six Great-Grandchildren. Also survived by a sister, Florence (Chester) Wojtalewicz of Stevens Point.
Preceded in death by two daughters, Elsie Kotolski-Knight and Delores Gollonik. Son, James,
Three son-in-laws, Thomas Wanta, Vincent Kotolski and Don Knight. Brothers, Edward, Raymond and Herman Wrycha. Sisters, Clara Glenn, Eleanor Firkus, Adeline Zaidel and Evelyn Wrycha.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday October 17, 2013, at 10:30a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church Torun. Rev. Greg Michaud officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street Stevens Point and again on Thursday from 9:30a.m. until time of service at the church. Parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials in Rita's name will be established at a later date. What a wonderful human being, Rita always was so kind and sweet to everyone. My heart is saddened.

My deepest sympathy to all your family! I remember your mother as a faith filled women with a deep love for her family. Her strong hold to the family farm and dedication to providing for her family through farming and gardening will always remain with me. I'm sorry to hear of Rita's loss, she was a nice lady. I walk past her house almost daily and could count on a smile and a wave from Rita from time to time. I bid the Kozak family peace at this sad time.
