To Family, we can only say what an honor it was to have spent quality time with the coach over the years. A lot of laughs on the golf course, mostly because of everyone's play except the coach. One of our most treasured photos is of the coach smiling down at our son Jesse as he held him shortly after he was born. B&C and Wanda, we are sorry we can't be with you, but you are in our thoughts as always. Our regards to the Walker family.
Aloha, Steve, Jazz and Family
One of the most memorable experiences of my running career was the opportunity to know and work with Coach Walker on the Duke track from 1956 to 1960. He was a true gentleman, generous with his advice, and inspiring with his philosophy.

To Carol, Wanda and Bruce and all the rest of the Walker clan, my condolences. Coach Walker will be remembered well for his tremendous contributions, but also as a dear and loving father and grandfather. My thoughts and love to you in this sad time.
To the Walker & Hopp families, it was a distinct honor to have met "Coach" Walker. It may have only been briefly but a delight none the less. So while his legacy is truly profound, it is the memory of Coach as dad and grandpa that lives in you that will be the his greatest legacy of all. God bless Coach!

Dr. Walker was an NAIA icon, serving as a longtime member of the Executive Committee, a term as NAIA President and an inductee in its Hall of Fame. He was Mr. Track and Field within the NAIA and all of the coaches and institutions were proud of him when he rose to his positions with US Track and Field and later as Chairman of the United States Olympic Committee. Dr Walker will always be part of my life story. I had the best time working with him during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics games. I knew he was an important person with the U.S. Olympic Committee, but he never put himself first. He was always willing to answer questions and give help if you needed it. I am blessed to have walked in the footsteps of great people like the coach. Thank you Dr. Walker and may God Bless You to continue to do great work.

My sympathies go out to LeRoy Jr., and the rest of his family. I met "Coach" while I was working for the NAIA in Kansas City, MO, in 1991.
He was attending the 50th anniversary luncheon, where 23 out of 26 past presidents were in attendence. We spent time together in New York at the 1993 tennis games. He set up an interview for me at the Olympic Committee
Board meeting in Dallas, Texas, and also with
the USOC in Atlanta, for the games there.
Whenever he came to Kansas City, he always took time to visit with me and my sons. He was so excited to get to meet my first grandson in 1994.
He was a wonderful human being, and one of my favorite coaches. May he rest in peace!
