Dearest John or Poppa,
We spent 66 years together, and hope you, as I do, "say they were okay". Lots of doing and planning, raising a great group of kids, and enjoying each in their endeavors.
The time now seems to have passed too quickly, it was busy and it was fun. I know you had many adventures in your life.
May you be in heaven, enjoying it all, taking time to rest.
You deserve the best.
Love you Poppa, see you one of these days, Momma.

Captain John was a good man. It was an honor to be under his command during World War II. I was sad to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

What a priviledge it was to have been able to spend time with JP. He is a true American Hero and a wonderful person. He will be dearly missed.

Captain Lonsberg was a great man and the best soldier I have ever personally known. He brought me through the War without a scrach and I owe him my life. He would want me to tell about nearly shooting him one night during the Battle of the Bulge. It is characteristic of him to think that was worth telling over and over again. I am sure that he is telling that story in Heaven now.

John, please accept my deepest sympathy and friendship during this difficult time for you and your family. When my parents passed away years ago, I learned what a tremendous loss it is for me and I feel for you at this time. May your father's soul rest in eternal peace. Stay strong and let time heal you, God is always with you and your family...
