Very Sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I coached baseball with him for a couple of years and really admired his patience in teaching young men that wanted to learn the game. Prayers go out to his family from our family.

We got to know Joe as an amazing baseball coach. He always brought baseball cards and gum, which he knew would help make the sport fun for the kids. He had a kind, supremely patient approach, never raising his voice. He loved to win and built a great team, but cared much more about the kids' development. I once asked him how he knew so much about teaching baseball and he smiled that giant Joe smile, reached into his pocket and pulled out a stack of papers with drills he had printed from the Internet. “It's not that hard,” he said.
Last night, as we drove our son home from his baseball game, he said, “I made those plays tonight for Coach Ribble.” I hope Joe's family knows what an incredibly positive impact he made on the lives of those kids and their families. He taught us much more than baseball. Thanks for sharing him—you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Joey, you were like brother to me having lived next door for 20 some years. referring to Bobby's statements about the countless sandlot games we used to have, playing three flies in for hours at a time or just riding bikes around the neighborhood all day. I havnt herd the old basement phrase in years so that does bring a smile. I always knew when I woke up in the morning that I would walk next door and we would all be off the next adventure, we had so much fun together! Great times on hundreds of fishing trips or just hanging out. My fondest childhood memories were with you and the gang from the neighborhood. Looking back on all of it i would have to say I was privileged to have known you! Thank you for being a great personal friend, I will miss you dearly. I wish we would have planned that trip to montauk we discussed but I know when I make it there you will be with me one way or another. God speed Johnny Reb, I love you brother! My thoughts and prayers go out to the families, and to to Joann. Joe I look forward to a little stick ball or fishing with you again one day up top. Rest in peace my friend. Mark, aka Gary Larson

Joey I dont know where to start. You JImmy and Angie have to be my oldest friends. i can remember Angie and I standing at the bus stop watching Mark Denise Kurt Jimmy Laurie and you heading off to school knowing when you guys got back we would be getting into trouble somehow as kids always do. The memories of making hot wheels race tracks in your back yard to wiffleball tournaments in Latinette and Whittets back yard to football in your side yard and the old basement have always put a smile on my face. Cant forget sled riding down the hill by the old pink trailer and the many trips to Kerrs market for candy. As we got older times got funner. I'll leave that one alone. Wish i would have made more of an effort to look you up so we could have talked about these things together. Thanks Duvall for reminding me of Johnny Reb. I completely forgot about that but when i read it it also put a smile on my face. Joey when I get to heaven their will be a few things I will have to take care of first but I promise i will look you up so we can once again re live those good old times. Mine and Jorjas thoughts , prayers and deepest sympathy are with you and your family God Bless you all
