I first met Steve while working on a high-pressure railroad construction project with Sverdrup in 1997. We worked long and hard and got to know each other well. Later, we shared jokes about how much we were making on the stock market while it was going up, and kept up kidding each other as we lost money when it was going down. He introduced me to Suzanne at a Cardinals game, and we were all happy to get the news they were getting married. It was always easy for Steve to make me laugh, including when I talked to him from Australia a couple months ago. Steve was a great guy and friend and we will all miss him.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Life us too short, but he was certainly filled with good times. May the good memories last a lifetime. I knew Steve from tennis. He was a great tennis enthusiast and a wonderful guy. He will be missed by many.

Suzanne,
You and the Gabriel/Pattison family have had too much sadness in too short a time. It is times like this where words fail us and we cannot fully express our sympathy. Steve was a good man and set an example for us all. Our thoughts are with you.

Although we knew Steve for only a short time, he impressed us as a very compassionate man. His care and concern for his family (especially his brother in law Chuck and his sister Judy) made him a very special gentleman. And it made us care for him deeply. Our hearts go out to you, Suzanne.

Suzzane, My thoughts of you and Steve had me add you to my prayer list recently. Then out of the blue I got notice. Suzanne you have my deepest sympathy. I fondly remember the years Steve and I were roomates and his comment to this day about when I met Linda that he could not believe our worldwind romance (34 years now). He was one of the few outside of family at our wedding. Before that there were those days at Sverdrup and yes it always seemed afterwork he had a tennis racket. Upon my return to Buffalo, I realize we only occassionaly met when we were in St. Louis or talked on the phone but it was always nice to talk with Steve. He was such a gentleman and a good person. I am blessed to have experienced his friendship. May eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. My prayers are with you Suzanne and all Steve's family and friends.

A life well lived. Steve welcomed his nieces and nephews into his life, providing them with wonderful experiences they will never forget. The last thing he did before falling ill was to help his sister and her family through the death of their beloved husband, father and grandfather. So glad he found personal happiness with Suzanne. Rest in peace, Steve.
