Suntrup, David Lee 58, of Lesterville, Missouri, his spirit suddenly free, is survived by his wife, Glee Wheeler Suntrup; his daughter, Sarah Alane Suntrup; and a quite large extended family. Dave was born in St. Louis, beloved son of the late Geraldine "Jerry" and John "Jack" Suntrup, and was raised in Brentwood with fourteen siblings -- Joann, Pat, Hank, Dick, Bob, Jim, Mary, Danny, Mike, Mark, Cathy, Peter, Paul, and Steve --spending many childhood days with his brothers in the woods behind their house near Memorial Park. He attended Immacolata School, CBC, Brentwood High School, and Meramec Community College, where he earned an A.A. in Human Services. Preferring always to be outside, he apprenticed to a bricklayer and operated his own brick and stone business for many years. David and his first wife bought a home and campgrounds on the Black River, establishing Bearcat, a small float business where Dave raised horses and where Sarah loved to swim and fish and relax. Over the years, Glee and David grew Bearcat Getaway into a music venue and popular outdoor destination. After retirement from masonry work, Dave began crafting walnut furniture. Services: The family plans an outdoor memorial in late September.

Dave always greeted me with a smile and uplifting words. He and Glee were kind enough to give my own business a leg up. He is still there, in the flowers, trees, inside of his soulmate Glee. They were an inspiration to me. Thanks.

I'm truly very sorry. Words are not enough to express what a kind & gentle soul Heaven has gained with Dave Suntrup. I'm blessed to have known him & to call him friend. His smile lit up a room, especially when speaking of his beautiful wife, Glee. Please accept our deepest condolences, Glee and family.

To a great friend, great man, and example to us all in his love for his wife. A man who loved life and helped others with nothing expected in return. He will be missed. Dave not only made an impact in my life but has touched others in ways only our Lord and Savior knows. Forever memories of a great and nobel man.

"Kind" and "Gentle" are words often used to describe David. Definitely loved by all. I cannot imagine this world without David in it. One of my many dear, sweet loving cousins but unique among millions of men. RIP David, I know your with God. My prayers continue for the family and all David's friends that they are comforted by God's promises and his unending love.
