John M. "Jack" Abell

Dr. Abell was a singular, kind, and wonderful man. He was one who held up the sky in Aurora. He is a touchstone of my childhood, and I remember him with great affection. My thoughts and affection to the Abell family

I just learned of Jack's death and my belated condolences go to Pat and the rest of the family. He was a caring man who gave freely of his time and energies to help others. It was always a pleasure to serve with him on fund raising efforts for Mercy Hospital. I know he will be greatly missed by all

Dear Pat, Mike, Martha, Theresa, Tim, your extended family, friends, colleagues, community... the list goes on, doesn't it? With the passing of someone we love, we discover just how far their light and influence reached, how many lives they touched and healed, how many faces they brightened with their smile and kind words, and how many hearts are carrying a spark of their life to share with others. You have my deep condolences and also my gratitude for having known such a lovely man. He could lighten up a room.
