Pawlowski, Leonard H. 86 of Libertyville died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. He was born August 13, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI and had been a resident of Libertyville and Waukegan for almost 60 years. Leonard was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving on the USS Vastal and had retired from USF & G where he served as an insurace auditor for 40 year. He was a member of the Waukegan K of C and served as an usher for St. Joseph Catholic Church Libertyville. He was Past District deputy of the northern district of IL for the ELKS Club and was a member of Waukegan Elks club 702. He had received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Marquette Univ. in 1951. Leonard loved to vacation with his family on the Outer Banks was an avid reader and a loyal Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed Estate sales. He is survived by his beloved wife Audrey of 57 years of marriage, his loving chidren Mark, Karen (Pat) Morris, John (Mary) and Jim (Christine) Leonard was the proud grandfather of Margaret Drew Brian, Joe, Jessica, Kristen, Matthew, Hannah and the late Scott and was the dear brother of the late Wanda. Funeral services will be 9:30AM Sat. Nov. 10 from McMurrough Funeral Chapel 101 Park Place Libertyville to St. Joseph Church 121 East Maple for Mass at 10 AM. Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be Friday Nov. 9 from 4 - 8 PM at the funeral chapel. I hold the fondest memories of Len... from my childhood; splitting wood behind his garage (he said built character) “I think it built firewood" To him and Audrey coming home from a night out, to find us neighborhood guys playing poker at his kitchen table. He always laughed, that Leonard laugh even as he tossed us out of his house… In fact I don't believe I ever saw him when he was not smiling or laughing, even when I brought Mark home after he drank the better part of a bottle of Southern Comfort.
Leonard you keep them laughing up there until we all get there…
