Today my beautiful aunt is laid to rest. Words cannot describe how much I will miss this wonderful lady. I remember, growing up, how much we all wanted to be like her. She was a woman before her time. She juggled a career, helped her husband build a business, raised two boys and in true Libey fashion, ran the show. Her husband (Uncle Kenny) used to tell us that all of their successes were because of her. Her sacrifice, her love and devotion, her drive and imagination. He worshipped her. I remember thinking that if someday, I could be all of those things, maybe someone would love me like that.
We often joked in our family that if you moved out of our family home, you couldn't come back, because we didn't have a basement. Aunt Naida always had a place in her (remodeled) basement for her kids. She was a nurturer and would have taken care of the world, had that been her destiny. Her positive spirit and loving ways have made her a favorite person to all who have ever known her.
Although I couldn't make it north to say goodbye to her and be with my family to celebrate her beautiful life, I am there in spirit with all of my heart. Surely there will be a parade in heaven as they receive this wonderful soul. I am so blessed to have been part of her life. I'll never forget her and the beauty that she brought to this world. Godspeed Aunt Naida!
