I never knew Mr. Stamps, but came across his obituary from a friend. He seems like an amazing man with a wonderful family (that have a terrific sense of humor). I wish I did know him. God Bless him and death to Daylight Savings.

Amanda,
So sorry to hear about your dad. He was one of the funniest human beings around. I never left a conversation with him without a smile, and more often then not, I would be holding my side from laughter. Your words are a fitting tribute to a wonderful man.

I did not know Mr. Harry, which is my loss, but I surely would have liked him! I am so very sorry for your loss, but I imagine Mr. Harry is right now petitioning St. Peter to repeal Daylight Savings Time. What a wonderful tribute to your loved one.

I remember taking notes in his American Government class one day, when he said that Mississippi (which was not a state at the time) had sent their representative by the name of Charles Pride (Charlie Pride) to a meeting, which was held behind closed doors (just like the lyrics to the song). Well, I was the only one apparently smart enough to realize something's up. I gave him a weird stare and he just looked at me, and gave me a wink and a smile. He was always interesting and challenging. He wanted us to give it all we had. Remember, you started out with a zero in his class, grades were on you! He encouraged me to join the honor society and wrote a letter of recommendation for me, which I am certain got me into nursing school. I completed 97 hours at Jefferson Davis and only remember three instructors. Of those three, I only remember class time spent with Mr. Stamps. He was a devilish angel among us, and now he has made it home.
