Amanda, I regret that I did not meet Harry as I discovered the obit via Facebook. However, I told my WWII vet older brother Sunday that I was disappointed that in 8 years in office George W. Bush never eliminated the changing of the clocks twice a year. He could have had a legacy, but blew it. I, too, would have loved to have had Hillary in office! Wonderful tribute.

A beautiful eulogy.

One of the few great men in my life passed away on Saturday. Harry was another father to me. His daughter, and my best friend, wrote the most incredible and fitting obituary for her daddy. Rest in Peace, Harry. And keep God's lawn and camellias looking good! Pls save me a rocking chair w you and my daddy.

Rest in Peace Harry. We'll keep up your fight against The Devil's Time!

My condolences to family and friends for the loss of a wonderfully idiosyncratic and eccentric man. I regret having never met him, but your beautifully written obituary makes me feel like I had!

We celebrated Harry's life tonight. The funny, sweet, smart and sarcastic stories about him were endless. It was definitely laughter through the tears. He was one of the very few truly great men in my life, and he was one-of-a-kind.

I can only hope to have an obituary like this at the end of my life. Well done, Harry!

This is crazy. When I took Sociology at MGCCC, my instructor was Harry Stamps? Oh my gosh he was the funniest man I have ever known. He kept us laughing through the entire semester. We only had two tests, a mid term and a final. I clearly remember the mid term. It was 3 legal sheets, front and back and might as well have been written in Greek. When I turned my test in, I looked at him and said, "You're a s___, and you know it." He just grinned. I made it out of his class with a B and knew he gave it to me because the final was as ad as the mid term. God rest his soul. If he is in Heaven, I know he has the full attention of everyone there and has them in stitches.

I never knew Mr. Stamps, but came across his obituary from a friend. He seems like an amazing man with a wonderful family (that have a terrific sense of humor). I wish I did know him. God Bless him and death to Daylight Savings.
