Prof. Stamps, even in your passing you managed to make me smile and think. I can only hope I make a similar impression with my life.

Regretfully,I didn't know Mr. Stamps ... but I wish I had. I feel as though I really missed someone I would have enjoyed! I'm so sorry for your loss... I know he will be greatly missed...

I did not know Mr. Stamps, but after reading this wonderful obituary, I wish I had known him as well as I knew my own father (who passed in late December). May these memories provide you solace...and a smile.

I did not know Mr. Stamps, but his obituary is a wondrous description of this singular educator. Peace be with him and the famiy.

Dear Stamps Family,
Professor (Harry) was a professor of mine at JD in the late 70's and taught me that education could actually be fun. There were several of us law enforcement officers in his class and he would join us at the Friendship House after night class for coffee. Dont know who enjoyed who's company the most. A great guy!

I worked with Harry at MGCCC in the '90s right before he retired. I was a newly minted administrator & Harry was Harry. I remember him once calling out directions to an MGCCC bus driver to get us delivered to The Revolving Tables in Mendenhall for lunch after a brisk morning annoying elected officials during MGCCC's "Legislative Day." The food was great, and I learned a lot. Thanks for an obit that truly reminded me of Harry Stamps.

Judging from these pages I guess I could be one of his oldest students: American Government, 1966-67, Jefferson Davis Junior College. He left a lasting impression and I wish I had known him better. My condolenses.

Harry was my over-the-back fence neighbor, we talked about squirrels, birds, mosquitoes, our birds of paradise plants. Katrina took my house down to the slab, Harry had to endure more of the aftermath as his home was merely half destroyed and he chose to stay and rebuild. I knew he was one of a kind, and enjoyed his presence. RIP, Harry, don't let the angels change you.
