Kenneth Jones Obituary

MSgt Kenneth C. Jones

U.S. Air Force, retired

1927 - 2014

Gulfport, MS

MSgt Kenneth C. Jones, U.S. Air Force, retired, age 86 of Gulfport, left to be with God on Monday, February 3, 2014.

Ken was a 24 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving not only on our home turf, but also abroad in Japan, Germany, and Korea. His military career specialty was in the field of communications.

After his retirement from the armed forces, Ken furthered his career as inspector for Redman Homes and as a realtor on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Our Ken loved his family, friends, and his church. Earlier years found him to be an avid hunter, fisherman, and skilled in metal-detecting.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Gurtha (Hudson) Jones; two brothers, Robert and Earl Jones; and a sister, Ethel (Jones) Ford, all of the Gulf Coast.

He is survived by his siblings, Margaret L. Massa of Mansfield, OH, Rexine G. Jones of Gulfport, and Cecil (Sharalene) Jones of Wichita, KS. Ken is further survived by his children, Ronald P. (Dianne) Jones of Westminster, MA, Phillip D. Jones of San Bernardino, CA, and Michael R. Jones of Las Vegas, NV and Krystal D. Book (Sky) of Hot Springs, AR; four grandchildren, Sydney and Jordan Jones, and Alyssa and Shelby Book; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

In his memory, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport, MS 39507.

A visitation was held on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Noon at the funeral home chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.

We enjoyed Ken's presence a lot. We were waiting for the weather to warm up some to go metal detecting on the beach, and get some of his good advice. He was always a good neighbor. We'll miss him.
