The members and staff of the Harrison County Tourism Commission extend our collective deepest sympathy to the Combs family, especially his wife, Nita, and all of his many friends. We had the pleasure of working closely with him over the years. We appreciated his vision, commitment, and efforts to bring the cruise industry to Gulfport. He leaves a wonderful legacy in our community. May his memory be a blessing to all.

It saddened me to hear of the passing of former Mayor Combs. We met back in 1992 when I relocated to the coast from NYC. We both were born in the Great State of Alabama, and shared a lot of memories of those years. Whether you were up close or judged him from afar, Ken Combs was Gulfport, he was the MS Gulf Coast. To his family my sincere condolences on the loss of Mr. Combs. The Bible tells us that weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. God Bless.
