Ronnie,
It was a pleasure knowing you during the years our boys (Robert & Ricky Tompkins) were playing sports in Gulfport 1979-1984, especially Ricky's Admiral & American Legion baseball games.
Many times we went together to the out-of-town games. RIP Ronnie. It has been our pleasure knowing you

Gulfport and Gulfport High will never be the same without Ronnie. During my time at GHS as a student trainer, everything was the way it was suppose to be when Ronnie was at a game or practice. His presence will be missed.

Ronnie,
What fond memories I have in remembering you as the number one cheerleader for Gulfport athletics-- first as a student myself at Gulfport High, secondly as the wife of a Gulfport High coach, then as the mother of children who were cheerleaders and/or participants in athletics for Gulfport schools, and finally as a teacher who just kept coming to the sporting events to see Gulfport High students excel. One thing that I knew without a shadow of doubt through all of these phases is that you would always be at these games with your white towel, waving enthusiastically and smiling confidently, ever present on the sideline. Thank you, Ronnie, for uplifting our spirits and always believing. God bless you. You've certainly touched my life and many others as well.

God Bless you and the inspiration you gave to so many. If only others could have as happy and total life as you, the Lord blessed you, peace be with you.

I celebrate your life Ronnie. Thank you for the memories. We can learn life lessons from you. When we face life challenges we can overcome them by cheering ourselves to victory. You gave us the gift of cheering. 'Be of good cheer',these are the words of Jesus. I praise God for your life.

Hey Ronnie, Thanks for the years of inspiration. No matter how down our team was, you were always cheering.

Thanks,

I remember those Friday evenings when my sister, my little friends, and I would be playing outside and Ronnie would come through on his bike and yell "GO GULFPORT". The first time I saw Ronnie do that was when I was only 6 or 7 years old, I ran inside and asked my mom what was going on. She calmed me down and said " That man is Gulfport's #1 sports fan". We kids soon learned that when Ronnie came through that meant the team caravan would soon be parading through and we would climb on to the fence to watch and wave at the team on the buses. 25 years later I would become a coach at Gulfport with Ronnie as our most loyal fan.

On behalf of my mother and father, Mr. & Mrs. Walter L Walker Jr. and my family, Thanks for the memories and I thank our Heavenly Father for us being in each others lives.
