Gary S. Vogt, 69, of Bonita Springs, Fla., died peacefully at his home Friday January 31, 2014 after succumbing to a progressive illness. Beloved husband of Veronica (nee Orlow) for 48 years. Dear father of Victoria Brown (Atlanta, Ga.) and Geoffrey (Amy) Vogt (Estero, Fla.). Loving grandfather to Severin Vogt (9), Audrey Brown (8) and Marin Vogt (6). Also survived by a dear aunt, Isabel Simpson, cousins and many friends. Gary grew up in Wauwatosa, Wisc.; he graduated from Wauwatosa East High School and later from the University of Miami (Fla.). He was a financial advisor for 36 years in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where he was a member of the Rotary Club, Lauderdale Yacht Club and Ft. Lauderdale Country Club. Gary was a devoted father and spent much of his time coaching athletic teams for Geoff and supporting Vickie in her competitive swimming. Upon retirement, he and Veronica split their time between Bonita Springs-where he was a member of The Colony Golf and Country Club and First Presbyterian Church of Bonita-and Highlands, N.C.-where he was a member of Cullasaja Club and an affiliate member of First Presbyterian of Highlands. Gary was very active and loved tennis and golf, playing one or the other at least five days a week. Visitation Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10121 W North Ave. Wauwatosa, WI (www.schmidtandbartelt.com) from 11AM until time of the Funeral Service at 1:30PM. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bonita Springs, Fla. Memorials may be made in Gary's memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (lbda.org) or the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine (miami.edu/givetoum).

Dear Veronica and family, I just learned of Gary's passing and want to tell you how sorry I am. Gary was my boss for many years and my son, Adam, coach for tball. His love for his family was apparent every day.

Dear Veronica and Vogt Family,
My deepest sympathy of the passing of Gary. It has been a long time we have seen each other. My mother was Connie Dworschack Babcock and a friend of your mother. My prayers for all of you at this time.
