Nan, Janie & Family
Jimmy's passing reminds us that we are here on Earth for but a brief time. People we meet, work with, play with, and compete with, all make an impression on us. I had the pleasure of knowing Jimmy for most of his days, and the blessing of his impression on my life. He was my idol and someone I did my best to copy in our younger days. We grew apart after the early days of Moore Park and the Miami Red Devils, the competitions of Edison vs Jackson, but the repect and admiration has never left.
I know it must be rough on the family, but I will cherish the living days of Jimmy, and celebrate that. My thoughts and prayers are for your comfort and peace.
We will all meet again someday. When that happens, I hope to shake his hand and talk about the good old days.
Jim "a man not easily forgotten".
A man who lit up a room and filled your heart with joy when he smiled.
A real man of God and a man's man. A light in the world of darkness to all those he made contact. Jim lived his life to the fullest with many accomplishments but his greatest accomplishment was his life he lived in Christ like fashion. Jim was always humble and gentle. It is an honour to have shared a small part of his life but it has left a big mark in our lives. Jim has left a special and influencing imprint in our hearts. We have the fondest memories of how Jim's face would light up when Steve called him Coach. A title well deserved to the end. Jim is dancing in GLORY now. Oh how we will miss him. Oh how he is loved.
Peace and Grace.
Go with God.
Love Rhonda and Steve xo

Jim Rountree was one of the greatest and
most versatile athletes ever to come out of South Florida. "Tree" could do everything and make it look effortless!
We have had the privilege of knowing Jim and Nan for many years and enjoyed many good times both here and in the mountains of North Carolina. We also shared many years at Church by the Glades where Jim served in a leadership role. Jim has ALWAYS been a fierce competitor in sports and in life
as he battled many health challenges. He fought the fight and kept the faith
and finished like the champion! Well done! We will miss him. GO GATORS!
Love in Christ,
Pam & Bob Geissinger
Nan-You and all of Jims family are in my prayers.I grieve with you. Blessings.Buddy Duncan.

An athlete supreme for all seasons, Jim showcased his skills in a quiet, but dazzling manner. He was a sensitive, gentle man with all-around athletic talent that few achieve. His final years were a bumpy road, but as always he battled on, sustained by his beloved family and many friends. May warrior Jimmy rest in peace.
Dear Nan and Family,
An athlete supreme for all seasons, Jimmy Rountree always showcased his skills in a quiet, but dazzling manner. He loved to compete and starred in three sports in an era of strong high school, college and pro teams. Among his greatest admirers were his teammates at all levels. He was awesome to behold. Like the time against Miami Beach High were he returned a punt 70 yards after being stripped of his shoe and helmet as he raced to a touchdown. Jackson won 51-0 en route to a 9-1 season. Another bolt of lighning came in 1952 against West Palm Beach when Jimmy sped 96 yards to score as Jackson won 20-6. It was also a 9-1 season. Jimmy was a sensitive, gentle man with all-around talent that few athletes achieve. His final years were a bumpy road, but as always he battled on sustained by the love of his family and friends. May warrior Jimmy rest in peace.
So sorry to hear God bless his family.
Our Blessings to the Family with fond memories of Jimmie. Miami Jackson Alumni, Sarah(Powell)& Denis Mastay
