Miles Goodman

Miles Goodman, 82, passed away peacefully Thursday October 29,2015 at Hospice of Palm Beach County in Delray Beach. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Barbara (Solomon) Goodman; his son Wayne Goodman and his wife Karin Goodman; his daughter Valerie Cuseo and her husband Rick Cuseo; his three granddaughters Amber, Addison and Alexa Goodman, family and close friends. Born on April 6, 1933, in New York, New York, to Arthur and Julia (Goldblatt) Goodman, he was the eldest of three sons. Mr. Goodman's interest in academia began at a young age, and his study of chemistry, physics and math led to a long and fulfilling career in teaching. He graduated from Brooklyn College, earned his Master of Arts degree at Yale University, and continued his doctoral studies at Polytechnic Institute of New York University. Mr. Goodman was an assistant professor at Manhattan College. He married his sweetheart Barbara on June 24, 1962. In 1963 he joined the founding faculty at Kingsborough Community College. Over the next 32 years he became tenured, and served as a Dean and as Chairman of the Physical Sciences Department. In 1995, he retired as an Emeritus Professor, and moved to Florida, where he enjoyed 20 years of leisure. Mr. Goodman will be remembered as a loyal, loving husband, doting father and grandfather, and respected member of the community. Arrangements are with Beth Israel Memorial Chapel.
