Joan
Norm had a tremendous positive impact on all who knew him. He was a great leader and a very well respected engineer in the field of concrete. He was an inspiration to me during my tenure at ACI. Our involvement as friends goes back to the 60's and the early days of prestressed concrete. He was a great person who will be deply missed.
My deepest sympathy go out to you, Joan,in dealing with this tradgedy and the future. My prayers are with you.

Joan,
Norm was an inspiration to me professionally and a trusted friend personally. He helped me get through a trying time involving my health and it was through his advice--I believe--that I'm still alive today. My wife and I send our prayers in this trying time for you.

My Dear Joan:
Just learned the news. I will write more as I am able. Do know that my heart is breaking and I cannot find words to express my sadness over what has happened. I AM HERE and AVAILABLE for anything that could be of help.

Dear Joan
Our family was devastated to hear of the death of Norman and the circumstances of his passing. We all remember fondly visiting your home in Glenview with Ian Lisk and the hospitality extended to us. Stuart and Erin had tremendous fun playing on the tennis court and we enjoyed our time in the garden watching and chatting with you and Norm. In our short acquaintance with you and Norm, we recognised that he was a true gentleman and that you were a devoted couple. Please be assured that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad and difficult time. God Bless.

Dear Joan:

I was very saddened by the passing of Norm. I have known him for more than forty five years and always enjoyed visiting with him at ACI conventions. He had that infectious smile always greeting his friends and was a remarkable enthusiast for everything that the ACI was involved in. We and all the engineering professions have lost a dear colleague and a star in our area of expertise.

May God grant him peace and our condolences on this great loss.

Joan,
I am sorry to hear of Norm passing. I first met Norm in 1997 as a student intern at CEG, I know right away that Norm is a great man and down to earth when he walked up to me and introduced himself and welcome me to the company.
A man of Norm stature doesn't have to do that. He treats everyone with the same courtesy and respect, no matter if you are a junior or senior level in the company or industry. He always remembers your name.
I will remember him as a Brilliant and kind man...
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
