BEING A BRONX GIRL, I HAD A SPECIAL FEELING FOR PETE. HE DID SO MUCH FOR THE MUSIC OF THE DAY, AND FOR RADIO BROADCASTING.

LONG LIVE ROCK n ROLL.

Pete truly was a great man. In the summer of 1969, just as he was joining WNEW, he introduced so many people to Neil Young was in the process of joining C,S,& N. He loved Poco and once played "And Settlin Down" twice in a row. Unprecedented! He used to fight with Scott Muni over who would get to play Tuesday Afternoon on Tuesday afternoons. He also confessed that he liked the Four Seasons and had the guts to play them on WNEW. More importantly, he approached everything with class and civility. And he never forgot his Catholic and Jesuit roots. There will never be another like him. R.I.P., my friend. And thanks for so many GREAT, GREAT , GREAT memories.

I'm another WNEW-FM listener from the late 60's and early 70's ... Pete was a great part of the music and culture of that period. RIP.

I listened to Pete when he was with WNEW FM. I always enjoyed his show and his insight into the music. Its an era gone by; sad for all us baby boomers.

Sorry to hear of Pete's passing. He had such a relaxed vibe as he presented some of the best music of our times. From WNEW and later on WFUV, I always enjoyed his radio work... Gone but not Forgotten.
