To the Rose family : I was shocked to discover Ernies death as I was searching for Pat´s phone number. Please accept my sincere condolences on Earnie´s untimely passing. I am from Minnesota and my ex husband played with the SSO for many years from 1972-96. Ernie was such a nice person and I am sorry I lost such contact with him over the years. Bonnie Steinkraus

I will miss Ernie so much. He and I worked together at the SSO for such a long time. I enjoyed his humor (his favorite expression when pressed upon his availability to work was "in my mythical spare time". He did such a great job organizing the SSO East Coast tour in 1988, He was a friend and an important part of the development that the SSO experienced during his tenure.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Ernie's passing. An old friend with whom I reconnected thru Facebook, we often talked of the "good old days" of cats, of friends long-gone, of rosy meatballs and his very garlicky hummus. He was a good man, a kind soul, and a dear friend.

My deepest condolences to Pat Sharp and son, Samuel, as well as all of Ernest's family. My "namesake" and I had a great relationship. So sorry that he left us so early. Best wishes always.

I worked with Ernest for years at Oviatt. We worked in different offices and so I didn't see him often, but when we did see each other I always loved our conversations. He was such a creative and brilliant man, and so insightful. I have really missed him being part of the team at Oviatt. I feel so lucky to have known him.

Ernest had a good take on politics and current events. I enjoyed talking to him when I saw him at company meetings. It is very sad that his life was cut short at age sixty-seven. May he rest in peace.

I have known Ernest for a long, long time. We met when he adopted 3 kitties from me, and then came back for a 4th kitty! When they all passed, we became co-workers, and then he adopted another kitty from me. He always made me laugh and was truly a decent human being. RIP my friend.
