I am so sad to hear about Kristen's passing. I just found out. Kristen and I were roommates during our junior year abroad in Florence, Italy. We kept in touch for a while after college, but then lost touch. Kristen was such a genuinely nice person. We had many adventures in Italy and a few other European countries as well. One of my all time favorite photos I took, was of Kristen, standing in front of a Phantom of the Opera billboard, taken somwhere in Austria. Her smile was infectious. I remember many times just goofing around and being silly, walking around Florence, eating lots of amazing food. I am so so sorry for your loss. Kristen was a good friend. I wish I had not lost touch with her. My thoughts and best wishes go out to her enitre family.
Thinking of you and all your wonderfulness.
Matt, Maddy and Ethan... we are thinking of you.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Kristin's family. She was a wonderful teacher and she had that great smile. So sorry for your loss.
I just learned of Kristen's passing. What a beautiful woman who gave so much of herself. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family. May you be comforted by her love and beautiful spirit that lives on.
God Bless You

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Kristen. I remember fondly the young girl who was a cheerleader with my daughter Amy at St. Ann's...with Sharon and I as their coaches. It' hard to lose a child....a wife....a mother. We are thinking of you and send our prayers from North Carolina.
Our thoughts and prayers with Mrs.Caron's family as we knew her. Karen was one of my daughters teachers at Lafayette HS.Stephanie looked up to her and respected her as a friend and a teacher.Remember Karen as an another Angel in heaven looking over us and protecting her children.Rest in peace.
Mike, Sharon, Kevin, Matt, Maddy, and Ethan...I would never be able to express the gratitude I owe Kristen for the friend she was to Julie. She was one of very few that got to see all sides and that tells me just how special Kristen was and will continue to be. I will miss their battles of religion, literature, wits, and especially sports - as Kristen always managed to get a shot in on Georgetown right up to naming OTTO! My heart goes out to all of you.
Our deepest sympathies are with you and the children during this difficult time. May the memories you have continue to lift your spirits everyday and Kristen's spirit live with in the children as they grow into beautiful adults. I am so glad our paths crossed those few years ago- thinking of you and praying for your strength and peace. She will always be watching over you. The Robin Holbert-Ascioti Family.
This is very sad. I randomly scrolled through syracuse.com and came accross one of my favorite teachers passing away. Mrs. Caron was an inspirational and phenomenal teacher- I'm sure LaFayette students and staff can agree with me on that. Mrs. Caron, you will be missed dearly! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
To the Kawa and Caron Families - Sending thoughts and prayers to all of you. Kristen continues to be an inspiration to all she touched and will be missed many. May God keep her in his light as an Angel to guide all of us.
Matt, Maddy , Ethan and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Kristen was a special lady and will be missed by all. Know that you are in our thought and prayers.
Kristin, Steve, Justin and Julia Schoeneck
The death of Kristen, or to me Mrs. Caron, has brought me great sadness. I have her to thank for a lot of my success today, so to have to say goodbye so soon doesn't seem fair. She always knew how to cheer me up when I was down or get me out of trouble in school. She was more than a teacher to me, she was like a second mom. Even after I graduated and she got really sick she made sure to stay in contact with me. I will be forever grateful for her and everything she did for me. Her beautiful spirit was contagious and could put anyone in a good mood. I'm really going to miss her, but I know she's watching over me and will continue guide me through life, just in a new way. She will never be forgotten.
Dear Matt, Mike, Sharon, and family...
I can't find words to express my sadness for your loss of Kristen. While I haven't seen Kristen in many years, I well remember her refreshing personality, incisive wit, keen perspectives, passion for life, and boundless compassion for others. She lit up a room and will continue to light up the lives of people she touched. My thoughts and best wishes are with you all. Steve
I cant believe my favorite teacher is gone. It just doesn't seen real. But I know that she is in a better place know. The things she taught me I will never forget. She persuaded me to do things i never thought I could. She is an amazing woman and I will miss her forever.
I love and miss you MS. Caron. Rest In Peace!

On this Christmas Day,I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to Kristen's family,friends,co-workers,students as well as anyone feeling the loss of such a beautiful human being. I did not know Kristen well; we graduated from High School together. I remember her smile, and radiant enthusiasm. My heart goes out to all of you, especially Kristen's family and friends. Although I did not know her well;I didn't have too. I was so deeply saddened to learn of her passing. I am so impressed with the courage, the positive attitude and the message Kristen has left behind.
All of you are in my thoughts and prayers! May God comfort you and provide you the strength to get through this difficult time.
To Kristen- I only wish I could have known you better. I know your spirit will live on. You keep shining your extraordinary light. I know I will be looking for it. I am so sorry your time here on earth was cut so short, but your suffering is over, may you rest in eternal, heavenly peace. -Romans 10:9
Dear Matt, Maddie, Ethan and the Kawa Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your Wife, Mother, Daughter and Sister... I wish I could find the right words to say to you at this time but there are truly no words. I will simply say ... You will always be in my thoughts and in my prayers. And I know that your wife, mother, daughter and sister is now a beautiful Angel watching over us. Love and Hugs.
Knowing Kristen made me a better person- she was the light to my dark, the good to my bad and the funny to my serious. I will miss her with all of my heart. My deepest sympathy to Sharon, Mike, Kevin, Matt, Maddy and Ethan. When you are older kids I will tell you the stories of your mom and me and how SHE got me to go to the fraternity parties on campus! She was a wonderful friend and was really a sister to me and I will miss her smile but she will always hold a special place in my heart. I love and miss you Kris-
I was so sorry to hear of Kristen's passing! She has struggled so long against this illness.
I remember when we met at Lafayette High School; I was hired for a one year LOA, and we ended up roommates. She was such a creative and kind person with a wicked sense of humor! Even though I moved on from Lafayette, Kristen was the one person with whom I kept in contact. We would get together for lunch maybe once or twice or year and catch up.
I was lucky to have her in my life, and she will live on in the memories of all those whose lives she touched in her too brief stay in this world. Rest in Peace, my friend, and my heart goes out to your family.
You are now free to run and play amongst the angels. Your smile will brighten the heavens as you did our hearts.
To the Kawa Family,
What a touching tribute to the woman who had the guts to go to the Westhill senior prom with me waaaay back when. From Facebook updates afar, her fight against ALS was seemingly cheery and brave.
To the Caron and Kawa Families
Please accept our deepest sympathies at this most difficult time for you.
Phyllis and Kip Wangerman
My condolences to the family of Ms. Caron she was a great teacher and person. She will be missed always by every student and person she came in contact with.
Our hearts and thoughts are with you all
at this sad time. Your library family at Mundy.
To the Kawa and Caron families,
Kristen's obit tells it all.Although I taught with Kristen during her years at Lafayette,it was until I co-taught in her classroom that I really got to know her.We learned that we went to the same grammar school-small world.I will always remember her humor and wit in the classroom. She loved to share her travel stories with students, noting how frequently people mistook her for Cameron Diaz, insisting they could pass for identical twins. My two sons had Kristen as their 9th grade English teacher, and she was their favorite,as was the case with so many other students. Her style of teaching was "win the heart and the mind will follow."In a nutshell, her students loved her.She certainly brought the light of Christ into this world with her life and example. Our sincere condolences.
Tom Turner and family
