Although I did not know Lorraine well, I always enjoyed speaking with her in the library. Over the years she was a great help to my students in preparing their research projects and always reinforced the importance of learning how to research well. She will be missed.

Thank you Lord for giving me a chance to share a life with a woman who becomes my guardian, sister, mentor and mother. Soror Lorraine, your teachings will not fade away, your spirit will remain in my heart and your love will heal the pain. We met only two years after I lost my mother. As the only child you took a role of a mother. I remember how happy you were when I told you that I will be going to Tajikistan for research but you were also worried because I was going far away to a place we both have never been. On September 1, 2012 in the company of Sorors Lisa A, Lisa E and Ms. Priscilla, you gave me goodbye smile at the airport as I was leaving the country. It will be hard to come back to USA without your presence.
I love you and may the Lord continue to protect you in heaven.

Lorraine will forever be in my memory. She was one my adopted Syracuse sisters, AKA and Link sister, and a true friend to Pollard and I from the first day we arrived in Syracuse. We had many ways in common especially our desire to have events and activities done the "right" way and pleasing to the eye. I will miss her phone conversations, words of encouragement as I adjusted to life away from Syracuse, and the special movies and meals we shared with another Syracuse friend. Lorraine had a kind heart , loved her sorority and working with the undergaduates. She was also dedicated to the Syracuse Links using her home to bring the community togather for one of their annual events. She was truly a wonderful person. Rest in peace Lorriane, your adpoted sister and brother. (Merriette and Pollard.)

Ms. Coleman,
I wondered into the library at Clary Middle School over 35 years ago and you found me. I spent every available moment in the library with you, shelving books, cleaning up and doing whatever you asked me to do. You were one of the many dedicated teachers who planted a lifelong love of reading and learning in me. In later years, you became more than my librarian, you became my friend. Thank you for all the moments you spent with me, they will always be cherished.
Your student forever,

Babette
